The 2019 Indiana hemp experience was not great for many of the first-time farmers. Growers experienced a wetter than normal spring which delayed planting in many areas. There was also a lot of poor quality plant material sold to growers. In some cases the plant material was accompanied with questionable certificates of analysis. Plant material is a big upfront capital investment for farmers and we think that establishing a propagation standard would improve plant quality and give growers piece of mind that their investment in plant material is secure.
