Author Bio

Jairam Danao is currently pursuing a Master's in Horticulture at Purdue University. He is studying the small stalk (pedicel) that connects an apple fruit to the tree. In particular, he is focused on understanding the genetic basis for control of pedicel length and diameter. These characteristics have previously been shown to be related to fruit size in apples. With a B.Sc. in Agriculture, he has earned accolades for scientific poster presentations. Jairam's research journey includes his current master's thesis, and as a research technician, he contributed to diverse projects at Eurofins. His teaching experience as a TA encompasses courses in Horticulture and Biology
